Miss Tham Lee Yan graduated for ‘Fellowship of British Dispensing Opticians (UK), being the ‘Member of Association of British Dispensing Opticians’ and ‘Member of The Malaysian Association of Practising Opticians’ had given her more exposures & valuable skills.
Highlighted to be in particular field of Operation, Marketing and Management expertise of area. Her expertise also recognized by Ministry of Health Malaysia as the registered optician in Malaysia.
The expertise gained also proved her ability to setup the retail for optical across the nation. Location included in Klang Velley and Kuala Lumpur. Overall, 13 years’ experience in the retail, marketing and operation was actually a track record to prove results & great performances.

Tham Leeyan

ABDO was formed in 1986 when its two predecessors, the Association of Dispensing Opticians and the Faculty of Dispensing Opticians, were merged following the Health and Social Security Act of 1984. The profession of dispensing opticians has been regulated voluntarily since 1926 and, as a statutory profession, by the Opticians Act since 1958. Since such time the conduct of dispensing opticians has thus been regulated partly by legal provisions, by advice given by the General Optical Council, and by ABDO’s own Advice to Fellows.
ABDO represents over 6,000 qualified dispensing opticians in the UK. The Association also has 211 members overseas, 412 associate members and 1,955 student members worldwide.*

Association of British Dispensing Opticians

MAPO was born in 1985 and is currently celebrating its successful 28th year. The Association has continued to grow and to remain active and relevant, providing opportunities to its members and eye care practitioners to upgrade knowledge and skills through various activities connected to the optical industry such as optical fairs, exhibitions, educational conferences and seminars, monthly meetings and forums, which all translate to providing better care and service to the public.
